Sleek Contour and Blush palette

Hey guys!  Hope you're all having a wonderful day?

I have another item for you today that's only just coming out.  So, you know how the Sleek contour palette is impossible to get hold of?  Well, they're re-releasing it as a trio with a blush!  I picked up one in the colour 'fair' (372) the other day - the third item in it is a blusher and what I really love, is that the one in the 'fair' palette is rose gold!!! Here's some pics and a review :)

Using all 3 - bronzer for contour, blusher on apples of cheeks, and highlighter on cheekbones in different lights

My Thoughts

Are you planning on picking up one of these?  I'm pretty sure they're going to sell out fast!!!  I wish I knew what the other colour blushers were going to be - but all I can say for now about this, is I seriously love it!  The highlight is so pretty, and adds just the right amount of sparkle.  The blusher compliments my skin perfectly, adding a lovely pink/gold shimmer - and the bronzer, works really well with my pale skin - I can see this replacing my Barry M bronzer as my 'go-to', as much because, as because it's so handing having all three together.  I love this and I'm super glad I managed to find one before they sell out nationally, much like the original contour palette.

MUA Bronzed Perfection

Hey guys!  Hope you're all have a great day?

So, I managed to get my paws on an MUA Bronzed Perfection the other day, I was super happy and, couldn't quite get over how mahoosive it is!  It retails for £3 I believe, which given the size (and quality) is very reasonable.

Thoughts

Well, these are only initial impressions as I've not used it on my skin yet - I'll update this post with a link to a full review when I've done one, which will probably be a little while yet.  First impressions are that I like it, it's really well pigmented and very soft.  The only reservation I have, is more to do with it working with my skin tone, so that's really more my issue than the bronzers :)  I think you really do get your money's worth given the sheer size of this.  I'll be using it, as well as my new Sleek contour/blusher trio over the next couple of weeks and I'll report back with a more accurate review - but for now, like the rest of MUA's products, I really like it - tip of the cap to you MUA!

Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara

Hey everyone!  Whee 2 blog posts in 1 day!  I'm on a roll!  As usual when I popped in to Superdrug the other day my trustee insider showed me some sparkly new stuff that I couldn't wait to get my paws on!  It was Revlons' new Photoready 3D Volume Mascara - BEHOLD!

3D Volume Mascara

No mascara

1 Coat of Revlon 3D Photoready Volume mascara

The low down

It's quite 'wet', but not too much - the Top Shop sisters of the moon mascara was a much wetter formulation.  This one has really interesting bristles, they're really thin and fine, and kinda rubbery.  The first time I used it, I didn't really like it and I'm still not 100% convinced.  I naturally have fairly long eye lashes so I tend to go for volume mascara's as opposed to lengthening ones.  Being that this is '3D volume' I thought it'd be right up my ally.  However, volume is what I feel it lacks.  It does give nice looking eye lashes, and lasts really well, but it doesn't give me the thickness I like.  I'd still go for Maybelline the falsies or Covergirl lash blast over this one any time.

Do you like the mahoosive pics?  Or prefer them the old size?

Heatherton Country Park

Hey guys!  So, as I mentioned we went to Heatherton Country Park yesterday for an activity day - and wow, it was so much fun!  I'm completely knackered now, but it was worth it :)

One of the things I like about the park is that you don't have to pay a fee to gain entrance to the park, you just pay for the things you want to do, which really suits me.  Here's what we did, enjoy the pics!

Adventure Golf - Pirates of the Carribean

This is a Pirates of the Carribean themed crazy golf course, it's 18 holes and quite tricky :)  It's brilliant fun and for once, Chris beat me ;)

I had a pink ball!

Pistol Shooting

This was fun, fustrating and hard work.  They're essentially BB guns that use pellets.  You get 25 pellets and have to hit your target.  Now, usually I'm good at targeting/shooting etc, but this time I really struggled to hit the target :(  But, I did get a bulls eye :D  Chris did a lot better than me - I think it was his day for glory!  Didn't take any pics of this :S

Archery

I loved this!  It would have been nice to have more go's, you get 6 practice shots, and 6 scoring shots - it's great fun though :)  In the practice run, I started off really well, and got worse.  In the scoring round, I didn't even hit the piece of paper, let alone any of the rings on the target, lol.

18 Hole Pitch n Putt

This was nothing short of a disaster.  We were knackered and achy from the previous activities but wanted to play anyway, we'd been really looking forward to it :)  Chris did great, no surprise there then!  Me however, didn't do so well... the best I could do was pretty much getting the ball to skim across the ground a few feet.  Very frustrating, and by the 3rd hole, we both realised we were really tired, we'd already been there for 4 hours, so we decided to retire for the evening and head back home.  I'm so glad we did, I don't think either of us had any energy left - we did sleep well though :)

I bought a hedgehog teddy bear, he's so cute and soft :D

This is the... 3-4th time we've been to Heatherton, I love it there, if you're ever near Tenby in Pembrokeshire and are looking for a nice activity park to go to, I'd recommend it :)

Back home, totally knackered but happy :)

Maybelline The Eraser

Hey everyone!  I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend? We've spent the day at Heatherton country park in Pembrokeshire today, it was so lovely :) I'll do a blog post on it so I don't ramble all over this one :p

Today's blog post is about the Maybelline The Eraser 'Foundation'.  As usual, here's the pics, summary at the bottom :)

So... what did I think of this?

I didn't like it.  I usually love Maybelline products, I love their Falsies mascara, colour tattoos, gel eyeliner and so many others, but this, this didn't do it for me, not even a bit.

For one, it feels weird, it's a strange watery consistency that gives you no real coverage, just a colour.  I'm sure other people have had fantastic experiences of this, but not me.  As you can see, for one the colour isn't quite right, that's my silly fault for picking the wrong colour.  This one was in the colour Fawn.  I doubt I'll ever finish this, given that I don't use it, as I don't feel it does anything for me other than offering me a darker colour on my skin.  Sorry to be so harsh, I just don't rate it.  Not for me :)

How did you get on with this?

Mentalness

Hey guys, sorry there wasn't a blog post yesterday - I'm trying to do one everyday, but lets just say yesterday was a bit mental.

I shan't be going into why, but we'll just say, I didn't turn on my laptop last night.  I away this weekend too - but, I have blog posts written in advance, so I only need to publish them :)

I'll have my phone with me too, so I'll be getting any updates and able to respond too ;)

Also, I might, if you guys would like to see it?  Do a vlog post of the weekend?  I realise this is a beauty blog, so you might not want to see it - please speak up with a yay nor nay :)   I'll be taking lots of pics on instagram anyway, so you'll see them on the feed on the left :D

I'll do a proper blog post tonight for you before I leave, but have a lovely weekend all!

What are you up to this weekend?

Strictly Eye Liners

Hey everyone!  How are you all today?  I'm fine, thanks for asking :)

So, this is a bit of a late post, in that I bought these Christmas 2011.  Only today when I took them out to photograph and swatch them did I really have a good look at them and think, you know what, these are pretty decent.  I bought them from Boots and it was actually in the January (2012) I bought them when they were trying to clear all the old stock. Now, I've had a look on the Boots website, and I don't think they're selling them any more - so I'm sorry to do yet another post of a discontinued item :(  But, I still wanted to share them with you :)  Photos and review below :)

These are my favourites of the collection, possibly becuase the items I can see myself using the most.  The plum colour liquid eye liner is stunning, in fact, they all are :)  To get that nice amount of glitter below, that was 4 heavy coats of glitter, allowing it to try between each application first.  But it's nice to see there are 3 ways to wear them - alone, both or just glitter.  I prefer them alone or with glitter :)

These are really thick and creamy - that might have been something to do with being photographed in a roasting hot conservatory though ;)  Either way, beautiful colours, the idea with these is to use them as a cream eye shadow, or as a highly blended eye liner for your upper lash line.  Now, my eyes crease like crazy so these aren't great on me, but if you don't have massively hooded/oily eyes I'm sure they'd be great :)

I love the colours of these, well, the light one - the other is just a standard black.  But, the light one, I'm not sure I'd ever use, I just can't carry off colours this light.  Maybe if I had darker skin I could, but as it stands, as pretty as it is, I can't use it, just too light.

To see the mascara, it's the the pic at the top :)  It's pretty decent, but likes to clump, so it was a challenge to get it as good as I did, not easy. Not the best wand, but I've used worse :)

Whoa, a lot of photos!  Did any of you pick these up at Christmas time?  What did you think?

Friend Swaps Number 4

Hey everyone and welcome to 'Friend Swaps Number 4'!  Today is all about Barry M and their wonderful Dazzle dusts, I have a couple of these now and love them!  So this one my friend gave me as it's not a colour she would generally wear - she's more into dark colours, whereas I'll wear them all pretty much :)

The Barry M Dazzle Dust she gave me is a beautiful light shimmery purple (my favourite colour!).  These cost £4.59 each and come in a massive range of colours, I mean, like over 50... pretty decent!  I did already have one, which was actually given to me by another friend, that's a deep purple - both I love!

*without primer*

As you can see this is a super pretty colour, they're all really well pigmented and the colour lasts really well.  It's worth mentioning that when I do all my swatching for my blog/youtube, I never use a primer on them first, so assuming you all use primers (most people I know do), then the colours will be a lot more vibrant.

What's your favourite Barry M Dazzle Dust?
