Yves Saint Laurant Touche Eclat Blur Primer

Just recently I've been trying out a new primer, the Yves Saint Laurant Touche Éclat Blur Primer. When it comes to primers, I'm pretty rubbish at remembering to put them on under foundation, but I've really made an effort with this one, and I think that's because it's so freakin' pretty! I mean look at it - IT HAS GOLD SPARKLES IN IT! Seriously, I nearly lost my s**t when I took this out of the box!

Ok, now we've got that little outburst out of the way, lets just take a moment to appreciate this.... ok done? Good, let me tell you a little bit about this.  This primer c/o House of Fraser, encompasses all of the YSL science behind their Touche Éclat range, which embodies light and illumination.  This primer is designed to brighten your skin, blur your pores and imperfections to give a better canvas on which to apply your foundation.

If you're wondering if those gold sparkles translate onto your skin, they do.  However, when you apply foundation over the top you won't see them any more.  The YSL blur primer is quite different in texture to other primers I've used.  You almost can't pump out a small enough amount as a little really, really goes a long way.  It's most similar to gel primers, but it has a VERY powdery finish, and that's not a bad thing.  Unlike other gel primers, it doesn't roll off the edge of your skin.  In the past with gel primers I've always found that instead of masking my pores, they'd actually highlight them - but with this one I haven't had that happen.  My foundation sits on top of it beautifully.  If anything, I've found that I need even less foundation than normal as the primer underneath seems to spread the foundation out more - I know that sounds strange, but that's what I've found.

It's certainly one of the best primers I've used.  It hasn't broken me out and has really helped to keep my foundation looking flawless on my skin for longer.  As you might expect, this isn't exactly a budget buy, it comes in at approx £29.50 - but like many things in life, you really get what you pay for.

YSL Touche Eclat foundation the Review

Hey guys!  What are you up to today? (leave a comment below)  :)

A few weeks ago I treated myself to a high end purchase and after MUCH deliberation, I decided (and by decided I mean found myself buying it without any intention of doing so) to get the YSL Touche Eclat foundation, whoop!

I went into Boots and was actually just browsing and feeling a little like a Magpie looking at all the shinies (Shocking mascara, Touche Eclat foundation yadda, yadda, yadda) and the lovely lady on the counter asked if I'd like to be colour matched, I thought 'what they hay' why not, so I did :)  Before I knew it I'd handed over my card and paid for it (very good sales person!).  So here's my pics, and as usual, my thoughts about it at the bottom :)

My Thoughts

This is swiftly becoming my favourite foundation, yes you heard it, it pains me to say it, but I do prefer it to my Ginvera BB Cream AND my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation... I know! Crazy!  I love it because;

1.  It doesn't clog my pores (this is a big deal)
2.  It smells good!
3.  It's lightweight, doesn't feel heavy
4.  Very easy to apply (I use my hands)
5.  Gives a luminosity and radiance to the skin

If they're not five cracking reasons to love it, then I don't know what is!  It costs £28 and for that you get 30ml of light infused goodness! Oh and there are 22 different shades, so the chances are you should be able to find one for your skin tone.  Just in case you're wondering that this sounds like a sponsored post, it's not.  I bought it with my own money, and these are my 100% honest opinions - you know me, when I like something, I rave about it :)  This is one of those times :)

Have you tried the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation?  Did you like it?

YSL Touche Eclat Foundation

Yep you heard it!  I'm sure a lot of you have already read about this, but just in case you haven't, I thought I'd do a quick post on it.

(photo courtesy of the fabulous British Beauty Blogger)

YSL (Yves Saint Laurent) are releasing a foundation version of their famous Touche Eclat - one of the best selling makeup products of all time (the best selling concealer of all time).  They've been making Touche Eclat for 20 years now, and they're putting all that fabulous technology into a new foundation - this will be one to try!

From everything I've read, it's medium coverage at best, but provides a beautiful luminosity and dewey finish.  Sounds like it's right up my street!  It's going to be released in 22 shades, so there should be no issue in being able to find a near perfect skin tone match, double yay!

It's going to be released here in the UK on 9th July and should retail for £28 (source FleurDeForce)

Will you be rushing out to try this on the 8th July?
