July She Said Beauty Box

Hey everyone!  So, it's that time of the month again, there is a June favourites blog coming, and my SheSaid beauty box, which is what you've come here for :)

So, it arrived this morning and considering I had the day off today I was super excited that I didn't have to wait until the weekend to pick it up from the post office, so I decided to do a video of it's unboxing too :)  That, I'll be putting up on youtube today, when it is live, I'll embed it in this post.

(I did try to add pics here of the box complete, but blogger keeps making them go sideways)  :S

First off, I'm really really happy with this box (as you'll see in my reaction on the video when it's up), I love all the things in it, some more than others, but without further ado, I'll crack on :)

The Vintage Cosmetic Company - Eyelash Curler

Yay!  I've had a cheap (£2) eyelash curler for ages, and now I have this one!  I'm so happy with it (although, I haven't tried it yet, so... I'm happy with the idea of it)  :)  I can't wait to try it out!  I also like that they come with 2 spare sponges :)

Stylfile nail file

This I've seen about, it's from Tom Pellereau who won the apprentice previously.  It's a curvy 'S' shaped nail file with a rough and less-rough side and a pretty pink trim.  I can't wait to try this out!  I need a decent 'hard' nail file as I have acrylic nails, which are getting rather long, so this is perfect timing!

Miners Bronzer and Blusher blend

Such a pretty colour!  This is called 'Sun Blushed' and on the back it says 'A complimenting blend of bronze and pink that leaves skin with a gorgeous sun blushed glow' - this I can't wait to try, I'm half tempted to take off all my makeup and put it back on so I can use this (and the new eyelash curlers)!  Sooo pretty!

Ice Crystals Anti-Ageing Prep & Polish

I'll be honest, I haven't heard of these before.  This is the only item in the box that isn't full size, and I'm fine with that, usually with beauty boxes you're lucky to get 1 full size item, let alone 4!  So, this is a little sachet, apparently, and I quote "is an incredible skin resurfacing treatment that retextures, illuminates & rejuvenates skin"  well, not sure about all that, but I'll give it a go :)

Murad - Time release blemish cleanser

This was the 4th full size item I received - it's the smaller of their sizes but that makes no difference to me.  They claim that "Now you can fight two stubborn skin concerns at the same time with the first patented time-release Anti-Ageing Blemish regime clinically proven to reduce blemishes while diminishing fine lines and wrinkles".  Well, we'll see about that - I'll let you know how I get on once I've had time to try it properly :)

My main disappointment with this box is the Miners Bronzer and Blusher, my impression of SheSaid beauty, as with other beauty boxes is that they're supposed to be 'high end or luxury samples', and as much as we all love a full size item, this is by no way high end, it costs £4.99 the same as the recent BarryM bronzer I bought.

Here's my Unboxing Video!

Life after Project 10 Pan - What I want!

Hey everyone :)  Sorry if the title is a little misleading, I haven't finished Project 10 Pan (P10P) yet :(  But, I am building a list of all the lovely things I'm going to purchase when I'm done, yay!  So here's my list so far, for that epic day that I finish my very last item :)

Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Number 75 - Dragon

I love this colour, they gave me a tiny sample of it (from the complaint I made) and it's the perfect red for me, only problem is, it's not on their website, so they've either stopped selling it, or don't sell it yet, this I'm going to have to find out :)

EDIT:  I've just found out this is discontinued :(  Wish they hadn't sent me samples of discontinued products :(

Chanel Quad (Les 4 Ombres) in Eclosion

This is the one Jess (makeup artist with Chanel) used on me for my makeover, and I loved it!

MUA Undressed Palette (their answer to the Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay)

photo taken from MUA

I've read amazing things about this palette, and read blogs that show colour for colour comparing both (MUA and Naked 2), and on almost every shade, they're identical, only difference is the price (MUA £4, Urban Decay £36).  No contest.

NARS - Smudge Proof Eye Shadow base

This is something I've seen MissGlamorazzi rave about.  She has really oily eye lids like me, and I know she loves this, so when my Urban Decay eye shadow primer runs out, I'll be sure to get this one next :)

That's about it for now, all I can say is roll on P10P I hope I see the light at the end of the tunnel soon!

7 Things in 7 Days - How did I do?

Hey everyone, happy Sunday to you all (or, happy Monday, Tues, Weds, Thurs, Fri, Sat depending on which day you're reading this)  :)

Oh, and don't forget my giveaway is still going on - just head to http://makeup-pixi3.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/makeup-giveaway.html where you can enter :)

So as you know, I accepted the Sprinkle of Glitter challenge of doing 7 things in 7 days, here's how I got on :)

Things I need to do for the challenge

1.  Write a blog post about things I want to buy (so far) when my Project 10 Pan is over.
2.  Lose weight this week at Slimming World (have been going for 7 weeks so far and lost 1 stone)  :)
3.  Dye my hair (I've had the dye for ages!)
4.  Cook a proper meal (not just stuff you chuck in the oven) every day :)
5.  Brush the cat - she's malting like crazy right now
6.  Make a 40th Birthday card for a friend of mine
7.  Make a get well soon card for a family member

Here's how I did

1.  Didn't manage to get done :S  In all honesty, I've barely been at the computer (busy with work!)
2.  ACHIEVED!  Lost half a pound - not much, but it's off as opposed to on, so I'm happy :) - whoop!
3.  This I did on Day 7, yay!  My hair looks lovely and black now :D
4.  I cooked a home-made meal every single day, much to the delight of my other half
5.  Does brushing the cat with your hand count?
6.  Didn't get this done - to be fair, her birthday isn't for a couple of weeks, so I was lazy :p
7.  I ended up buying one instead, I know, total cop out!

All in all, I'm pretty disappointed with myself... I should have made the get well soon card, I know it would have been super appreciated.  The blog post about all the things I want to buy when Project 10 Pan is over, I'm writing today, so it's only 1 day late :)  I've given Matilda a LOT of fuss, which, in my opinion is better than brushing her :)

Thanks for the challenge Louise, and sorry I sucked at it :)
