Yves Rocher | Exfoliating Shower Gel in Blackberry

Yves Rocher blackberry shower gel

Whilst I appreciate, a shower gel review might not be the most exciting to read, I felt like I really needed to share just how lovely this one is.  First off, the scent, for some reason blackberry scents always remind me of Christmas? I know, strange.  But this is a gorgeous rich scent filled with kiwi seeds and apricot kernel powder to gently exfoliate.  The gel itself is so luxurious and thick.  When rubbing it into the skin it feels so lovely, and so much more expensive than it is!

This really is just a quick post to share this with you since it's my new favourite shower gel, it smells great, feels lovely and is a gentle exfoliator suitable for daily use :)

This is currently on offer with 29% off, making it just £3.50.  I've also just noticed that at the moment they have a really good gift-with-purchase, this great weekend bag (it reminds me of my Longchamp shopper!) how fab is this!?!?

Organic Surge fresh ocean shower gel

Organic Surge fresh ocean shower gel

Over the course of the last few months I've become quite a fan of Organic Surge products, I've yet to try something from them that I don't like.

If you're not aware of the brand, they're certified organic, free from parabens, synthetic fragrances, colourants and SLS.  Their aim is to product affordable organic skincare that doesn't compromise on it's other ingredients, without setting you back a pretty penny.

Back in July I reviewed their super fresh body wash, which was so lovely - it smelled of lemons (one of my favourite shower scents).  This one is of equal quality - it lathers up beautifully and leaves your skin smelling fresh with accents of rosemary, lemon & lime.  It also doesn't dry out my skin, like many shower gels can.  That aside, it's also very affordable at £4.75* and lasts well.

There's two other scents which I've added to my wish list from their shower range which sound amazing, both sugared almond (this would be perfect for Christmas!) and sweet blossom.

Yep it's early to mention it, but these would make great stocking fillers as they're inexpensive, great quality and lovely to use.

Balance me super toning body wash

balance me super toning body wash

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all have that Friday feeling!  Anyone remember that old Crunchie advert?  Anyway, I digress!

Today I bring you the Balance Me Super Toning body wash*.  Free of sulphates and other nasties, the super toning cleanser builds up to a pretty nice lather - not a crazy one, but certainly enough of one. I don't know about you, but when I use a shower gel/body wash I always use a body buffer brush thingy, it helps to exfoliate really well and that's what I use with this.

As for the scent, it's exactly what you'd expect from Balance Me - it smells like a combination of 'organic' and 'spa', lol I know that's not very descriptive of a scent, but I think you'll know what I mean :)  Balance Me have listed in the ingredients juniper, bergamot, geranium and lavender - this will explain the scent I think - I can definitely smell the lavender in it, it's a lovely delicate and not overpower smell.

It left my skin feeling nourished and clean and not overpowering at all.  I've had a good look through the ingredients and can't see anything nasty in there at all, which is wonderful.  If you're interested in having a peek at it, it's £9 and available on their website.

I'm really loving Balance Me's products, I'm yet to try one I don't like :)  If you're interested, they're also running a competition this month up until the end of August - just take a picture of the Balance Me product you'd like to take away on holiday with you, use the tag #BalanceMeAway and share it with them on Facebook or Twitter and they're giving away weekly prizes :)  You can read more on it here.

What are your summer essentials?

Organic surge super fresh bodywash

Organic Surge super fresh bodywash

Organic Surge super fresh bodywash on the back of my hand

Before this I'd never tried anything from Organic Surge, I'd heard good things but didn't really know much about them, so I was excited to give this a whirl.

For me, shower gels which are 'awakening' or citrusy are perfect for your morning shower (as opposed to an evening one).  I tend to save spicy/warm scented ones for the evening, but typically I shower in the morning, so most of what you'll find on my bathroom window-sill will be citrus-themed gels.

There's a couple of things I immediately love about this (1) it's not tested on animals, and (2) it's suitable for vegetarians and vegans, oh and (3) it's 99% organic, whoop!  It's enriched with may chang and bergamot essential oils as well as mandarin (that's what give it the citrus edge).

To describe the scent is hard - it's like that typical 'organic' scent, mixed with citrus (orange).  It's definitely awakening, and I'd say it's refreshing.  Once this has run out (over half gone at the mo) I'm pretty tempted to buy some more, I love it!

Aside from being a great product, I love the background to Organic Surge - it was started by a chap called Alan.  He was amazed at all the harsh chemicals in body products and was sure there was a way to make ethical, organic products with nice ingredients that were still affordable (which this is).  Every product you buy from them contributes to helping children in Africa, a very ethical company and that sits very well with me.  I think I need to explore more of their range :)

It'll only set you back £5.99*, which you can pick up on their website, or in places like John Lewis.
