For a long time I've lusted over Seche nail polishes - base coat and top coat. I've had the top coat used on me before, and it always gave a lovely glossy finish and helped to dry the nail polish quickly. One thing I do suffer from are very bumpy nails - I can thank a lifetime of biting my nails for that. So when I had the opportunity to try a couple of nail polishes from Salons Direct, I thought this would be a perfect place to start.
The Seche Base coat (£5.94*) is also a ridge filler, so it helps to flood those little bumps and ridges in your nails to smooth out the surface, ready for your nail polish. The pearly white shade does also transfer onto your nail, which helps give a brighter base to make the colour pop a little more that you put over the top - it's actually a good trick, especially if you're using a fairly sheer colour, to put a white polish on underneath - so this doubles up to be very similar.
To go with my Seche base coat, I also picked an Orly polish in the shade Sweet Dreams (£6.18*), my first Orly polish I've tried. It works well with either 2 or 3 coats - but you can see you get very little coverage from one coat - but 2 or 3 work well. It's a lilacy/grey shade with a soft pink shimmer - not the most breathtaking shade in my collection but it's pretty enough. It lasted well on my nails before chipping too, bearing in mind before I bit my nails off, they were VERY weak.
All together these came in at £12.12, not bad for 2 decent nail polishes :)
