NEVE COSMETICS | Yumtint lip balm

Neve Cosmetics Yumtint

Yumtint with the lid off

Yumtint swatch

Me wearing Neve Yumtint on Instagram

As you're probably aware, I'm a great big fan of Neve - they're an Italian cruelty free fun makeup brand with excellent quality products.

Well, a good 6 weeks ago they sent me this little beauty in the post, it's a tinted lip balm called 'Yumtint' how cute is that!?

When I say 'tinted lip balm' it's pretty much a lipstick, but really hydrating like a lip balm.  It has impressive pigmentation (hence why I say it's more like a lippie) with equally impressive staying powder.  It glides on really well, giving your lips a beautiful flush of colour, but also keeping them hydrated and moist.

This has been a little handbag saviour for me over the past few weeks.  The weather has been really changeable which keeps giving me dry lips and this has really helped stave off proper dryness.  It comes in this shade pictured, and costs €9.90 (at current exchange rate, that's about £6.89).  If you're looking for something a little different from the norm, then I'd really recommend this, I've really enjoyed using it, and still am :)

Bargains with Cosme-De

Happy Anniversary Cosme-De
If you're a regular reader of Makeup-Pixi3 you might well know I've worked with the lovely people over at Cosme-de on quite a few occasions over the past year, most recently on the Benefit lip gloss giveaway I hosted for them.

Well the brand has just turned 7 years old (awwww) and to celebrate they have a big offer on where you can buy lot of their products at discount prices.

I was also a very lucky little blogger and was sent some treats to try out (squeee!).  Possibly my favourite has been the perfume Lady Million by Paco Robanne, I can't get over how amazing this smells.  It's sweet and slightly floral but not overpowering or sickly with either scent.  I think this might be the most beautiful scent in my collection, overtaking the #1 spot which was previously Touch of Pink by Lacoste - this just smells so much more refined, but so wearable as an every day scent. I love the unusual bottle too - it doesn't stand upright, which makes it quite different from others.

Another iconic product that Cosme-de are selling is the moisturiser Embryolisse - you know the one loved by models and makeup artists.  Well, while this isn't a big old review of it, I can give you a bit of a first impression.  I've been using it for about a week (this is why it's not a full on review).  Since using it my skin has been feeling so lovely and soft.  I did have some dry patches cropping up on my cheeks, but this has really helped stave that off and make it hydrated again.  It's currently discounted to $19 on Cosme-de which is around the £13 mark so not a bad price at all.

Last and by no means least, is the Dior Addict Lip Glow Colour Awakening Balm (what a mouthful!). It's a beautiful soft pink lip balm in a lipstick form. It gives your lips a beautiful soft pink glow that looks really natural, kind of 'your lips but better' which makes it go well with pretty much any makeup look your'e going for (unless you're going for a bold lip!). My lips have felt really hydrated when I've been using this - it's not greasy either, it's soft and buttery.  This is currently $26 on Cosme-de, which is around the £17 mark.

All these products are part of their 7th anniversary discount selection - you can see their full range here if you want to bag yourself a bargain.  If you plan on buying a couple of things an spending over £110 ($169) you could also pick up Frances the teddy bear as an anniversary freebie (order needs to be in by 6th May

Clarins garden escape collection

Clarins eclat minute baume

Clarins instant light lip balms

Clarins lipstick

Clarins Joli Rouge Brilliant perfect shine sheer lipstick

Clarins garden escape swatches
Now it's the beginning of the year, brands are starting to showcase their Spring collections, and the new Clarins collection couldn't be more beautiful.  I'm a big fan of their instant light lip perfectors, which I've been loving since their Autumn collection in 2013, so when this arrived at the door, I was pretty excited to give them a whirl.

Instant light lip balm - £18
Try not to think of these as a lipstick or a lip crayon, they're a lip balm with a soft tint to add a touch of colour to your lips.  They're available in 6 colours (01 rose, 02 coral, 03 my pink, 04 orange, 05 red and 06 rosewood).  They're packed with wild mango, vitamin e and shea butter which makes them super hydrating and nourishing, and have the most amazing scent like white chocolate.  They have a soft buttery texture, and feel just lovely on the lips.

So far the shade '03 my pink' is my favourite - it's soft and looks very subtle in the swatch, but on the lips it's a bit pinker.  They left my lips feeling very soft and hydrated and smelling divine!  Shop the collection here.

Joli rouge brilliant sheer lipstick - £23
Clarins have also added two new shades to their Joli rouge perfect shine lipsticks, 22 coral dahlia and 23 rose petal (the one pictured is 23 rose petal) - it's a beautiful pretty pink with little silvery sparkles in it.  Unlike the instant light lip balms which smell of white chocolate, this smells more like watermelon or a fruit punch (it's probably mango though as one of the main ingredients is mango butter).  This is also pretty hydrating for a lipstick, and gives the lips a gorgeous flush of shine and gentle colour.  It's not massively pigmented, but it's branded as a sheer lipstick, so you wouldn't expect that - it's supposed to be more soft and gentle, which is perfect for day wear.  Shop the lipsticks here.

As well as these products, in their garden escape collection they've also launched a stunning blusher and a 6 colour eye shadow palette (amongst other things) which are worth checking out, you can see their whole collection here.

The Body Shop - shimmer cubes and lip balm

Body Shop Shimmer cube in Purple £16*, Body Shop lip balm in Plum £3

** Excuse my brows, they need some TLC **

Sadly, my photographs really didn't do these shimmer cubes justice!  I used all 4 colours on that look, and if you'd seen me in real life, you'd have seen them, I think I just didn't have the lighting quite right, still getting used to this new camera :)

Shimmer cubes
I really love these - it's like a palette with individually wrapped shadows (generous sizes at that!).  Each shadow comes in it's own case, and each of them fit into a bigger case (how neat!).  The pigmentation is good, but I would recommend using a primer (this is something I do every day anyway), and the staying power is really decent too.  They're not too sparkly, not full of glitter, but a soft pretty shimmer. I didn't really get much fall out with these either, which was very refreshing!  I have to say, these blend really nicely too.  If you have a bit of an 'edge' when applying, they blend out beautifully.

Plum lip gloss
This has become a bit of a favourite of mine.  I don't like balms that are too tinted, it's just not a good look for me, and this offers a very subtle colour.  The swatch above was me applying it quite a lot on my hand so that the camera would pick up the colour, it's certainly more than I'd apply to my lips.  The scent/taste is amazing, it's like plum meets cherry cola, YUMMY!  It keeps my lips hydrated really well, and I'm a little bit in love with the pop-art style packaging, love it!  I'd love to try it in lychee and toffee (nom!).

On a side note, when popping onto their site to get the links for the products, I've just seen they're doing a new Blueberry body butter and blueberry body scrub gelee! ERMERGHERD!  I'm obsessed with blueberries, I NEED THIS!!!!

EOS Lip Balm in Lemon drop

A Lemon drop EOS lip balm closed and on a rock

A Lemon drop EOS lip balm open and on a rock with the lid next to it

Ages and ages ago, like, last year, I received an EOS lip balm in a makeup swap, you can just picture the squeals of joy when I ripped open the packaging to see one of these, it went straight on the lips and has been a firm favourite of mine ever since.

Then a few weeks ago, the lovely people at Cocktail Cosmetics offered to send me a couple of goodies to review, I of course graciously said yes thank you, and the rest is history!  Lets face it, it would have bene rude not to ;)

Did you know: EOS stands for Evolution of Smooth?  *shrugs* me neither!

The other two products they sent to me I've already reviewed (Japonesque brushes and Neve powder foundation), this is the third and final instalment.  So lets get on with the review!

My Thoughts

I always feel a bit like Jerry Springer when I start writing this!  You've probably guessed by my intro that I'm a fan of the EOS lip balms. They're not too waxy and they're not oily (that's something I really don't like).  They stay put on your lips for longer than you expect them too, and seal in moisture like a #boss.  They don't have any nasty ingredients in them like parabens and junk like that, nope, pretty much all natural, whoop.

They come in a range of mouth watering sounding flavours, like Strawberry Sorbet and Pomegranate Raspberry - these will be added to my collection very soon!  Next up, the packaging, they're neat, round and have a rubberised finish - and if you watch Beauty Broadcast (Emily Noel), you'll have clocked her EOS bowl in the background of all the flavours, they almost make a great centrepiece!  And, to quote Miss Glamorazzi, they look like a.....

All in all, I'm a big fan of these, I will be growing my collection of them with the afore mentioned flavours, and for £5.95 each and SPF15 in them, I'd recommend you do too :)

Now, take care of yourself, aaaand each other.
