Sigma brushes

Oh beautiful brushes, what did I do before you were in my life?  More to the point, oh F80 brush, what did I do before you were in my life!?

After trying EcoTools, Models Own and Bdellium, I decided to venture into the world of Sigma.  My first brush I bought a few months ago and instantly fell in love.  So a few weeks ago I set about ordering one from Beauty Chamber.  A few days later it arrived on my doorstep.  I've heard so many amazing things about this brush, and seen so many YouTube videos of people using it to blend their foundation, making it look airbrushed.

The next day when I was applying my makeup I reached for my F80 and, oh, my, god did it make my foundation look uh-mazing!  At the time I was trying out a teeny sample of NARS Sheer glow and wasn't sure if it was the foundation or the brush making my skin look great.  So the next day I moved on to my usual Dior BB Cream and once again, oh, my, god did my skin look great!  It's the brush!!!

Once I realised how amazing this is, I've tried it with lots of other foundations, and get similar results. If this isn't in your makeup kit yet, then it needs to be!  It's the best £15 I've spent in a long time.

Beauty Chamber were sweet enough to put a couple of other Sigma brushes in with my purchase too. There's a blending brush, a liner brush and an E70 angled shadow brush (£8.95*) - all of which are equally as brilliant!  The liner brush has a really good point to the tip, perfect for gel liner, and the blending brush is fantastic, far superior to my ecotools blending brush I have, it blends the edges much more and much better.  Finally, the angled shadow brush - perfect for adding colour to the crease up to the brow bone. The soft synthetic bristles do a brilliant job of blending all the shadows together.

Sigma extended wear eyeliner

There's been quite a bit of hype and chatter about these, Sigmas extended wear eyeliners.  Available in 9 shades from Cocktail Cosmetics for £8.95* each.

I have the shade drift, which is the shimmery yellow gold shade.  I love the packaging, that they come in a cute little box :)

As you can see I used it to line my lower lash line.  It's a pretty creamy formula so it doesn't drag the skin too much, but it's best quality is it's staying power.  Eight hours on and it looks identical to the pictures above, no smudging, flaking or melting.  The photo's really don't do the product justice either, the colour is quite strong whereas in the pics, it looks almost muted (that's not what it's like in real life!).

It's not a wooden pencil but sort of plasticy, so I'm not sure how well it'll sharpen - might be better than a normal wooden pencil but I won't know until I come to sharpen it, I'm sure it'll be fine though :)

These liners are all paraben free too - it's actually really nice to see more and more brands start to make more of their products free from nasty chemicals - all we need now is for no makeup to be tested on animals and none to have any parabens or mineral oil in etc :)

All in all I really liked this eyeliner, I love how long wearing and pigmented it is, it really is good quality :)  I've always had great experiences with Cocktail Cosmetics too - I've ordered quite a few things from them in the past and delivery has always been quick and more importantly, well packaged :)

Cocktail Cosmetics haul

I have to confess, since coming off my 100 day spending ban, I have gone a bit haul crazy.  It's mostly lots of little hauls, but they soon add up!  Anyway, one of the things you've said you'd like more of is haul posts, so here you go <3

I was super chuffed when I saw Cocktail Cosmetics had the Lime Crime Velvetines back in stock, I'd been patiently waiting for ages and checking on lots of different sites to see if they were back in stock and finally they were!  I do have some pics of me wearing it on a night out too, but I'll save them for my review of it, so keep your eyes peeled for that :)  As a little teaser, I will say I went to bed in quite a state that night (don't underestimate what a state I was in, my hangover lasted 2.5 days!), and had ALL my makeup still on, including the Red Velvet lipstick, and it was still there looking near perfect in the morning.

The Sigma brush is so so so soft!  Perfect for contouring with bronzer which is what I bought it for, and the fact that I wanted to own a Sigma brush and see what all the fuss is about, well, that's now backfired a bit as I want more!  I'm not sure which I'd pick next, maybe the E40 blending brush, or E30 pencil brush... but, if I'm really honest with myself, what I really want is this beautiful wonderuss collection, the 5 Kabuki brush set, but I don't think I could bring myself to pay all that money for them!

The EOS lip balm is a no brainer, it's now #3 in my collection and has a very happy home next to my laptop on my desk.  My first one was the Honeydew/Honeysuckle one which I had in a makeup swap with a lovely lady from Canada, that one has a real sweetness to the taste.  Then I had the Lemon Drop one which is a really refreshing scent, and now the Strawberry one, yummy!

Finally, the Sigma eye pencil, I haven't used this yet, but I'm seeing it as an under eye liner to be heavily blended to give a light glow, what do you reckon?

So that's my littleish haul - no doubt there'll be another one next week after my trip to the London blogger meetup on Saturday :)
