Monday Blogger Loves

Hello lovelies, it's that time again, the time for a selfless post about another blogger I've discovered and love.  Today, is dedicated to them as I turn my spotlight to Beauty Bird and her wonderful ramblings :) 

This will be the last weekly Monday Blogger Loves for a little while, I'm changing it to a monthly post from now on, listing more than 1 blogger in each post :)

I discovered Beauty bird on twitter a few weeks ago.  I haven't talked to her that much, but I do read her blog regularly :)  You know it's good when it's favourited ;)

She describes herself as "I'm your average twenty something girl, with a passion for beauty and skincare, who decided to get her bum into gear and set up a blog to write about it".  She started blogging back in March and so far has amassed a wonderful (near) 300 subscribers, so clearly she's doing something right :)


Her photo's are great quality and a great size which is something I look for in other bloggers, I also look for people with individual designs and not the standard default blogger template - that's one of the reasons I love her blog :)  She's got a lovely writing style, injecting personality into every post - it's what I aspire to and usually miss :p

So thank you Beauty Bird, you have a lovely blog, keep up the great work :)  If you all don't subscribe to her already, then you should check her out, she might just be your cup of tea :)

Monday Blogger Loves

Hello and happy Bank Holiday Monday everyone!  I loooove bank holidays, it's so nice staying up on the Sunday night, that's my fav, I even had an extra cup of tea last night - I know, hardcore! :D  

Anyway, it's that time of the week again for my Monday Blogger Loves, and this week my friends, it features the lovely Sharna at My beauty and fashion fix.

I started following her when she launched her 300 follower giveaway (which I think still has a day or two left on it).  With Sharna, it's the little things I like, the attention to detail on her blog.  So things like putting a nice border on her pics on the blog - if she's not using CSS, she's probably using something like picmonkey, which can be a tedious task.  I like the design of her blog, it's simple, elegant and feminine without being overly girly.  Something I try for, and fail miserably!  You'd think as I'm a designer I could do better :p  

She writes a really nice variety of posts too, lots of life blog posts too which I love as most of the bloggers I follow are mostly makeup - again, I'd like to do more life blog posts, but I can never think what to write them on :p  It's amazing to see how well she's done, to think only 3-4 weeks ago she was at 300 followers, and now she's well over 500, amazing and very well deserved :)  Theres one other thing... a thing that meant I'd instantly love her blog... polka dot background!  That's something I can relate to :)  Nice one Sharna, I love your blog, keep up the good work, and congratulations on how well it's doing :)

Monday Blogger Loves

Helloooo! How are ye' all?  I'm grand thanks for asking ;)  

It's time for a new Monday blogger love, yay!  I have to say, I love doing these posts - I love squishy fluffy happy posts and this one is as squishy as it gets - ooh eer - that didn't sound right, no-sir-ee... anyway, on with the happiness!  This week I give you *drumroll* The Tattooed Tealady!

She's a fairly recent find for me - bit late to the game on that one :)  She's become a bit of a twitter buddy of mine, sharing frequent chats with.  Her blog is beautiful and simple, and her reviews friendly and warm.  She's a patron of cruelty free and organic, which is pretty good in my eyes!  I like that she's honest, and not moaney and whiney as I've recently found some others to be :p  Plus she loves tea - you can't fault a woman who likes tea.  She always has great quality photos which is a big must as far as I'm concerned - I think it's really important to have high quality images, there's almost no point writing a lovely blog, for it to be littered with dull low quality pics.  She's got a really nice writing style, I feel like she writes just like she speaks in real life - that I really like in a blogger and is something I strive for but often miss.  Hats off to you m'lady!

Monday Blogger Loves

Hello my beautiful people (yes, as I just read that back I did think Marilyn Manson, but I'm going with it)  :) !  So it's that time of the week again for me to turn the spotlight onto a fellow blogger I've 'discovered' and love.  This week, I give you Natalie Roseanne's Nails and Beauty Blog.  Natalie or @ClutzyPrincess as she goes by on Twitter, was the lucky winner of my great big giveaway I did a while ago for when I hit 50 subscribers :)  I've since discovered her blog and really love it.

She writes fantastic and honest reviews and does lots of nail art/nail reviews which I really like, you don't find too many beauty bloggers focus on nails - so it's refreshing to see someone who has the balance down so well.  She has a really nice writing style, which is something I look for in a good blogger, I want to feel like we're sitting in a coffee shop, and chatting about makeup - and that's how I feel when I read her posts.  She'll openly comment on the negatives which I really like, as well as highlighting all the wonderful things about whatever it is she's reviewing.  She replies to tweets regularly and is an all round good egg :)

Monday Blogger Loves

Greetings beautiful people <3  Hope you're having a wonderful Monday?

Today I bring you, the one and only Talbs!

This is a recent discovering via the #bblogger chat on twitter than happens on a Sunday evening.  The first thing that stuck me was, lovely person - and this really comes across in her blog.  I think, for the most part, you can really get to know what a person is like through their blog - yes there's the obvious things like 'what makeup they like, and don't like', but through how the write, you can see if they're a moaning minnie, a chatterbox (like me), or just a sweet person - a lot of this can be seen in how someone responds to comments.

She's a creative person which I can really relate to, what with having a background in design/art/illustration etc.  As for her blog - it's pretty and simple.  I love the roses around the edges, and the cutesy top shop style nail varnish as a logo.

She writes great reviews, usually giving a negative as well as an array of positives.  I think if we're all honest with ourselves, we can all find a negative in a product, even something we really love and I really admire someone who is comfortable to admit to an items flaws.  In blogging word it can be hard to do, lets face it, we're all trying to attract PR's, because we already spend a metric tonne of money on makeup, so having the odd thing sent to us to review would be a nice change, and I think it's fair to say we're all a bit nervous about totally trashing an item, but I think most of us would, should it really warrent it.  Anyway, turning into a chatterbox again!

Ultimately, I love the blog - the style, and the writing - it's a great package :)  Ladies (and gents?)  I give you, Talbs.

Monday Blogger Loves

Hey guys, so this is a bit of a different post - do let me know if you like these, and I'll do more of them, I know I really like doing other posts than just Makeup ones :)

So I've recently been spending loads more time looking at other peoples blogs, and I've found some amazing people - some with lots of subscribers, and some with not many.  So, regardless of how popular they are, for me, it's all about the content, and the feel of their blog.  I plan on this being the first of a regular series of other bloggers I've found that I really like - I'll be posting links to them and a little skit about why I like their blog and a screenie of their blog, that way, you at least know I've sent you to the right place :p  So, here goes nothing!

The Black Pearl Blog

There's quite a few reasons I like this blog - firstly, the same - it screams Pirates of the Carribean (and, ahem, Johnny Depp!)  And lets face it, who doesn't want to be reminded of Johnny Depp?

Sandra, the blogger, is really beautiful, and has a great taste in makeup, jewellery and style.  She embrases who she is, as realistically I think most bloggers do (the ones I chose to read anyway) and that, I can really relate to.

She has a fantastic blog, I love the style, and she has really high quality photos, something I strive for and will never get close to unless I start taking pictures with a proper camera, and not my iPhone :)  She updates her blog regularly, at time of posting this, she has over 35 posts for July alone!  That's more than 1 a day, so she's a girl with a lot to say and I like that :)  So, that's The Black Pearl Blog - fun, elegant, stylish and individual - I can see why it's so popular ;)
