MeMeMe | Eye Inspire Catwalk Quad

So I'm sat here, looking through my folders of photos of makeup, and I see this, I really thought I'd reviewed it ages ago but seems I didn't!  So I thought, better late than never, I'll share it now :)

I really am quite partial to a green eye shadow, preferably a darker green (like shades 1 and 3 in the pic above... and 2).  This is a gorgeous little quad by MeMeMe, it's called 'Ocean Eyes' - so aptly named - the colours really are deep ocean green, almost mermaid like, even reminding me of Medusa!

What I love about this quad is the pigmentation and quality of the shadows.  They're slightly sparkly, and that really translates well in a swatch, or on the lid.  In the picture above you can really see the different coloured sparkles in each swatch - I like that they don't all have the same sparkle in the them.

These shadows blend really well too and stay put once they're on (with a primer of course!). I think MeMeMe are often overlooked as a high street brand, but I've always found their quality to be excellent.  It's a shame they withdrew from the highstreet, but it's great that they're still going and you can just buy them online.

MeMeMe Lip Glide

I must admit, I really do love a new release from a brand! I'm a little late blogging about this as it's been out a few weeks now, but MeMeMe have launched a range of Lip Glide pencils. They're available in 5 different shades including pink, nude, berry, red and peach - a lovely range of shades I'm sure you'll agree.

As much as I usually apply lip products with a lip brush (for a finer and more precise application) with this I tended to apply it directly from the pencil.  The pigmentation was fabulous, in the picture this was me going over my lips once with it.  As it's a pencil crayon, you're not necessarily going to get that crisp line around your lip - you might want to use it with a lip brush if that's what you're looking for and then fill in your lips directly from the crayon.

As for the texture it's pretty creamy, not so much buttery, but not drying either.  It lasts really well on the lips too, giving me hours of wear before needing to reapply.  

You've gotta love lip crayons, they're so convenient and personally I often find them longer wearing than lipsticks, do you find that?

MeMeMe | Goddess Rocks

I must be honest, I'm not typically one for any kind of shimmery bronzer - however, these are a little different.  The MeMeMe Goddess Rocks come in a pretty, grey cardboard pot, with a wedge of foam to keep them in place and stop them getting smashed up.  They cost £12.95 and fantastically, they haven't been tested on animals, yay :)

They're very sparkly - made up of 3 different shades - a bronze, a rose gold and a highlight beige shade - swirled all together they create a gorgeous soft shimmery bronze colour.  They're designed to be used on cheeks, cupids bow, decolletage and any other areas you want to create that bronzed goddess look.  Personally, I just used them on my cheek bones by dabbing a very fluffy brush in there (Real Techniques blusher brush) and applying it to my cheeks - I actually really like this look if you're going for dark or sultry eyes and a nude lip gloss - I think it creates a very glamourous dewey look.  I can see these sitting well in a makeup artists kit too as I think they add a gorgeous glow to the skin - but be warned, it is easy to overdo it with these. 

While these may not be something I reach for on a daily basis, I do think they have a place in my collection - other than looking beautiful, they do look gorgeous on the cheeks and work beautifully as a highlight and on top of blusher to add an extra dimension.

MeMeMe Coral blossom cheek tint

While I don't have a massive MeMeMe collectio, what I have tried from them I've always liked - like their creme shadow in Willow (stunning colour and really long lasting) and their Fat Cat mascara.

They're also pretty well known for their Benefit-dupes like their moon beam and beat the blues highlighters - very comparable to Benefit but for a fraction of the price.  So when this little beauty landed on my door-step, I was quite excited to give it a road test.

As with any/many tints, it's not going to be crazily pigmented, after all, it's a 'tint' and supposed to be subtle.  You can even use it to layer another blusher on top of, to give more depth and vibrancy (a little trick I learnt from Benefit in how they use their tints and blushers).

This, as it's called, is a beautiful coral colour and not over the top.  I had plenty of time to blend it in and create a beautiful soft sheen on my cheek that had a slight luminescence and glow to it.  It stayed put all day and had only faded a little when I came to remove it.

At £5.50*, it's quite a bargain and deserves it's rightful recognition as a great cheek (& lip) tint.

MeMeMe Dew Pot

Hello lovelies :)  I have a lovely post for you today, I say lovely, because I really like the product, and I love the name, it sounds so sweet don't you think?

So ladies (and gents?) I give you, the MeMeMe Dew Pots.

Very cute packaging!  I really like the MeMeMe branding... I can't quite put my finger on whether to consider them 'high street'... their quality, design and price puts them at the top end of high street (or drugstore depending on where you're reading this).

Their Thoughts

So, here's what they claim:  "High performance, ultra long-stay rich colour eye defining cream in 8 opulent shades to add an on-trend splash of colour to your look this season. Use alone for colour blocking or blend multiple shades together for ultimate impact"

My Thoughts

I really really like it :)  I was a bit apprehensive first of all as it's very soft, but it sets really well so I was pleasantly surprised.  It's a really pretty colour, I think I picked the right one (Willow Whisper).  As for how well it lasts, if I put a matching powder over the top I can get a good 5-8 hours out of it which is pretty decent.  It has a lovely shimmer to it and on the back of this one being so nice, I'm tempted to try some of the others like Coral Blossom and Woodland Truffle - they sound yummy!

As for negatives, the only real negative I have is the size of the pot.  It's not the lack of product, but the ability to get product out of there easily.  If you have long nails you won't be able to delve it out with your finger, which I think is how a lot of people use creme shadows.  So really you need to use a brush with this, which isn't the end of the world, just means you need to clean your brush straight afterwards :)  It's £7.25 too - compare that to the Maybelline colour tattoos which have more product and are cheaper... nah I'd still buy a Dew pot - they're lovely, great packaging, good product :)

My experience of Fat Cat Mascara by MeMeMe

Ok - so I was heading down for a funeral, hence wanting to buy a 'waterproof' mascara. Now, in Supadrug, the label on the mascara that had the price on it said 'Fat Cat Waterproof Mascara, £7.99'. I couldn't see anything on the actual packaging saying waterproof, but none of the others were, so assumed the label was right.

Wrong!

So, of course at the funeral, I shed a few tears, and as I gently brushed my eye lashes, black streaks came off all over my finger, definitely NOT waterproof! Now, even though it wasn't waterproof, doesn't mean it was bad. It gave me great lashes, now excuse the photo, yes my eyebrows need some TLC, and yes, this was after wearing makeup for 10 hours :)

I didn't find that the Fat Cat Mascara clumped my eye lashes, the brush applicator wasn't as good as the Urban Decay one which I usually use, but it was pretty decent, and lets not forget, half the price :) I'm not sure I'm ready to give up my Skyscraper mascara just yet, but I'm really pleased with the Fat Cat one :)

Fat Cat Mascara by MeMeMe

So today I bought a new mascara. I'm off to a family funeral tomorrow so I wanted to get a waterproof mascara as I don't have one currently at the moment. After MUCH deliberating, I figured I had to pick one! So instead of going for brands I'd tried before like Revlon, L'oreal etc, I decided to try a new brand, MeMeMe. The mascara retails at £7.99 which is about half the price of the Urban Decay Skyscraper mascara I use. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, we'll test it tomorrow! But I thought I'd put a post on here and a couple of pics for you too.

From first impressions the wand looks quite big, especially compared to the Urban Decay one, but if it grips the lashes well I'll be happy.

I'll re-post how I got on at the Weekend and do a bit of a review on it too,
