DEGUSTABOX | July 2015

Well I'm so sorry this is so late! I've really tried to make sure that we'd tried all of the things in the box this time before writing up my little review, and only in the last couple of days did we have the last bits.

The July Degustabox was a decent enough one.  It hasn't blown me away, but similarly we did enjoy (between us) what was in there. So without me waffling along, here's what I had :)

Lambrini - £3.29

It's been YEARS since I've had Lambrini.  My memories of it are mostly heartburn, but enjoying the taste.  Well this is their So Strawberry version, which I can say is super duper yummy! Both the hubby and I demolished it, and it didn't give us heartburn, YAY!

Newtons Appl Fizzics - £1.20

This is an apple juice and sparkling water drink - this is one the hubby had (I'm not great with apple juice) which he really loved.  He said it was tasty and refreshing, so it's got the man stamp of approval!

Tasty Little Numbers - £3.49 (each)

These were ones for the hubby too as they both had meat in them and I'm vegetarian.  He had these at the weekend and on toast.  He said they were nice, pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a 'nice' ready meal and said that he'd be happy to have them again - he also added that yes they're a bit expensive, but they were better than Sainsburys ready meals, so he said if you want a nice one, these are worth paying a little extra for :)  In our box we had the beef sausage & beans one, and the chicken tikka masala one :)

Fru Snax - £1.25 each

These are a low calorie high taste snack (just 45 cals a pack).  They're a bit strange, but not in a bad way.  They have dried (well, dehydrated from freezing them) pieces of fruit in them, and rectangular shapes of yoghurt.  My favourite pack was the fig with cherry yoghurt melts (even Squidge liked the yoghurt melts!), the strawberry was a bit overwhelming in flavour for me!

Quinola Mothergrain - Tex Mex Quinoa - £1.99

I haven't tried this yet... Squidge is too young for it and well, I keep forgetting we have it!  I love quinoa though, it's packed with protein and a good source of it for us veggies!  I love that they only take 30 seconds to heat up too.

Taking the Pea - £1.50

Now these were tasty! Think wasabi peas, but cheese and onion flavoured (yeah, weird!).  The hubby and I made short work of these!

Vitamins Jele... 

Now I'm not sure this was supposed to be in the box as it's not listed on the card - however, it was in the June box (hence the confusion!) and listed as £1.20... the hubby had it in June, and I had it this time around.  I absolutely loved it, it's packed with flavour (like Ribena) but with little jelly pieces in it (think Aloe drinks), yummy!

Weetabix On The Go - £1.49 each

These were interesting! I had the vanilla one, and the hubby had the chocolate one.  He really loved his, I liked mine but found it odd.  It's like a thick drinkable yoghurt.  It kept us reasonably full until lunch time (as good as having a proper breakfast) too :)

Say Yes to No - Sour cream & Onion toasted bread chips - £1.49

In all honesty, I wasn't a fan of these.  They were packed with flavour, and the format I liked (toasted bread chips), but they just had a bit of a tang that I didn't really like.  They're not something I'd buy if I was in the shop, but I would be happy to try other flavours of these :)

DEGUSTABOX | June 2015

It's a little late, but today's post is about the June Degustabox.  The good thing about it being late, is that I've sampled pretty much everything in the box, so can offer a quick review with each item as well as a bit of info about the product :)  The theme for the June Degustabox is 'Picnic' - if you know me at all, you'll be able to see that I really liked this box :)  Lets take a closer look what was inside:

Brioche Pasquier - £1.70 each

There were 2 packs of brioche (NOM!) in this month's box, one was chocolate chip, and the other was filled with chocolate, that was my favourite.  Both were soft and tasting fresh, but the chocolate filled one was so incredibly tasty - I'd definitely be happy to buy these again! I loved that they were all individually wrapped too so you don't have any wastage.

Multigrain Melba thins - £1.39

A few months ago (February) there was a box of original Melba thins inside and I do prefer these ones, the flavour is softer and in my opinion, goes better with cheese (which is what I have on them). I love that these are also individually wrapped into little packets containing about 10 thins in each wrap.

Kallo Belgian milk chocolate with caramel pieces - £1.69

Wow, these were tasty! The hubby and I made short work of them, demolishing them very quickly one evening! They're thin rice cakes, large, slathered in chocolate with lovely caramel pieces on the top - seriously yummy.

Kallo sea salt & vinegar rice cakes - £0.70p

These I only had a nibble of, unfortunately the packet had burst in the box which made them not very nice (they'd lost their crispy crunch).  The flavour was lovely, just not the texture, purely because of the packet being open.  I'd definitely pick these up again to go with some lunch :)

Cinnamon Love Chin Chin - £1.00

Despite the hubby loving cinnamon, he wasn't a fan of these.  That worked out well for me because I loved them!  It's a West African snack, they claim it crunches like a biscuit and tastes like a cake, and that's exactly what they were like! 

Coconom (organic coconut sugar) - £3.25

This is a strange one - it's a natural sugar from coconut (I never even knew this existed).  It's a dark sugar that smells like molasses, but doesn't have a taste as strong and isn't too sweet.  So far I've only tried it once in a bowl of porridge, it was nice, it added a gentle sweetness.  I love that this pouch is resealable too.

Maui & Sons Coconut water - £2.99

I'm a big fan of coconut water, it's super yummy, I usually drink vita coco but haven't had any in a while.  This is still sitting in my fridge waiting for me to crave it.  It's a big can (520ml) so I don't want to open it until I'm really thirsty :)

Zeo - £1.29 each

Not a brand I've heard of before, but lets face it, lots of brands in the Degustabox are brands that are new to lots of us.  A couple weeks ago we had a couple friends over for a board games night, I made pretty short work of both these.  They were really nice, lightly flavoured, like soda water with a hint of flavour, so very refreshing.

Vitvibe - £1.20

This was an interesting drink, blackcurrant with bits of jelly in it!  Not many calories so not too bad for you, but packed with flavour, really really nice.  The little bits of jelly were weird, but good weird, like an aloe vera drink (if you've ever had one).

Enhance - £2.49

This is currently sitting on my desk... I've used it once, and I'm afraid I won't be using it again. Not because it tastes bad (it's actually pretty nice, a very concentrated squash), but because it triggered a bit of an asthma attack in me.  Throughout my life there's been an E number that seems to trigger my asthma and I've never worked out what it is.  If I drink low calorie lemon or orange squash I get it, and I'm afraid, this also did it to me :(

DEGUSTABOX | May 2015

Towards the end of last month, the May Degustabox landed on my doorstep - the previous 2 months had been fantastic, especially the March (Easter) box as it was full of treats, so this box had a lot to live up to, but how did it fair? 

Maggi So StirFry x 2 £1.49 each

Hubby had these as I'm vegetarian and these didn't say they were suitable for vegetarians.  They were big packs, so could serve 2 as part of a meal, or one if you have them by themselves and want a good feed! He said they were nice, but we didn't make them up like the serving suggestion, he just had them plain, with the sachet of flavour.

Slim Pasta £2.49

This is made from all-natural Konjac flout and oat fibre.  It's a low calorie alternative to normal lasagne - I can't say I've tried this yet, in fact, I haven't even made a lasagne since turning veggie, I've no idea what to put into it since I don't like Quorn mince, suggestions?

Schwartz Marinade in a bag £2.19

This we haven't tried yet either - although we are hoping to have friends over for a BBQ in the Summer, so we'll definitely try it then as I'll be making up some chicken kebabs for it (for everyone else!).  I love the idea though, it's full of marinade in a folded up bag, you plonk your prepared meat in there, shake it about and put it in the fridge overnight - then the next day you have marinaded meat!

Daelmans Stroopwafels £2.00

My favourite part of the box :) I love these types of waffles, back home in Pembrokeshire we have a brand called Tre Groes waffles which were the first ones I ever tried, years and years ago.  These were delicious, how I managed to save 2 for the hubby for when he got home is beyond me, I really had a sweet craving that day too.

9 Bar £2.00

The name of these always makes me laugh, I still can't believe there's hemp based food called '9 bar'! These were 4 individually wrapped bars of seeds and fruit, topped with yummy chocolate.  They were actually really nice, I preferred them to the Nakd bars, these felt more wholesome.

Sweet Baby Ray's Honey Barbeque Sauce £2.99

Now this BBQ sauce was really lovely (apparently it's the USA #1 selling brand of BBQ sauce!). It was lovely and sweet & smokey, the only problem for me, was it gave me proper heartburn, so I've had to stop having it, sad face :(

Sarsons Balsamic Vinegar £2.00

I never knew Sarsons did Balsamic vinegar, we love having it over a salad - sadly, we haven't had a salad in a while, but next time we do we'll be cracking this out to see what it's like :)  Also, did you know Sarsons have been making vinegar for over 200 years?

Fentimans Ginger Beer £2.80

I'm a big fan of Fentimans, their Curiosity Cola is probably my favourite Cola, it has so much flavour! Needless to say, I was very excited to see this in box as I'm such a fan of theirs. It was lovely and spicy (the way that ginger is) and was enjoyed very soon after opening the box (that night!).

Green Coco 80p

This juice box was filled with coconut juice and banana.  I would have loved this, but I'm allergic to banana, so I gave it to the hubby.  He's not always very good with different drinks like that, and as a result he wasn't that keen, but then he doesn't like drinks like coconut water (which I love!).

Fuel £2.69

It took me a while to work out what this was.  Basically they're like Weetabix, they're a wheat biscuit cereal.  The hubby has worked his way through these (I don't really like Weetabix) and I'm afraid it's another product he wasn't that keen on - it just wasn't to his taste.  He's never really done the whole 'protein powder' or 'whey' powder thing though, maybe if he had he'd have liked them more :)

Overall, this wasn't my favourite box, there was just things we didn't like, or gave me heartburn in there, or things I couldn't have (as I'm vegetarian and have food allergies).  It wasn't a bad box, but I've had better ones from Degustabox.

DEGUSTABOX | April 2015

Gosh, this post is so late I already have the May box, I'll get to that box in the next couple of weeks as it was sent out early - the good thing about reviewing this a bit later than normal, is that I've had more of a chance to try more of the products :) The April box was an international box with all sorts of lovely treats inside - lets have a look and see what was in mine :)

The Drinks

Wonjo hibiscus drink - I must admit, I haven't tried this yet (it's in my fridge) and I can't see it listed on the card that was with the Degustabox so I really can't tell you much about this :/  However, I have had the Kingfisher beer (£2) - this is a firm favourite of mine, such a lovely beer - the hubby and I shared it (just so we could both have some) and it was super lovely! Next up the IdrinQ engery drink (£1.49 each) that doesn't have caffeine in it - I couldn't quite decide what these reminded me of, but in all honesty, neither the hubby or I finished them, they just weren't quite to our taste. Last but not least the Scheckters OrganicEnergy drink (£1.35) - this I have yet to try, but looking at the list of ingredients it does sound yummy (green coffee, guarana, pomegranate, green tea...).

 Nando's

Here's a confession for you - I've never been to Nando's! As I'm a vegetarian, it doesn't really appeal to me, however the hubby did help in demolishing these (I had the peri-salted ones).  He loves spice too, but I think I had the short straw as he said that the peri-salted ones I had were the spiciest, lol. Either way, they were lovely - nice thick chunky groove cut crisps with loads of flavour. These retail at 69p each.

Rice and Curry

Veetee rice tubs (£1.49 each) - these were really yummy and a nice sized portion.  I had these for lunch and they were perfect, great flavour and easy to prepare.  However, the lid didn't peel off in one as it should, it peeled off in a million little streaks, super annoying! Then we have the Schwartz curry powder recipe mixes (£1.08 each) so far we've just had the balti one (we made it up with Quorn pieces instead of chicken) and it was really nice, I'm looking forward to having the Korma one although I'm a little confused at needing to add a tin of tomatoes - didn't think there were any tomatoes in Korma?

DeBeukelaer Cookies

These cookies were seriously yummy! They were individually wrapped decent sized cookies, but you did only get 4 in a box, and as the box costs £2, this does make them quite expensive at 50p a cookie. The picture on the front of the box is a little misleading too, they do have a gorgeous soft chocolate filling, but not the amount in the picture.  We did really enjoy these and were eaten first and VERY quickly :)

Kinder Chocolate

In all honesty, who doesn't love Kinder chocolate? These were also demolished in a single evening sitting between the hubby and I! I'm not quite sure which were my favourite, I loved them both :) Each bag costs £1.55 of pure nomminess :)

Cirio Tomatoes

We've bought Cirio tinned tomatoes in the past but I've never seen the tomato fillets, these were delicious! We used them in the Schwartz balti curry we made and they went perfectly, as well as one of the little tubs of tomato puree. The tinned tomatoes cost £1.69 and the puree is £1.20.  I think that's a fair price for the fillets as they're not from a standard tomato but a special variety - and I often buy tins of cherry tomatoes (in fact, I only buy them these days for cooking) which are around £2 a tin. 

Barry's Tea

I haven't cracked these open yet, but I did run out of teabags today so I'll be digging into them soon. I've seen them about in Ireland and I think my family might buy them - and I always have a good cup of tea when I'm in Ireland, so I think they'll be decent tea bags (as long as they're strong!).  This box of 40 bags is £1.75 which is a pretty decent price (I'm always surprised how expensive tea is!).

DEGUSTABOX | March 2015

Remember how I said last month's Degustabox was my favourite? Scrap that, this is now my favourite one!  It's an easter themed box (so lots of sweets/chocolate) and includes a couple of things I'd been craving - how's that for timing! Literally, on the day this was delivered, in the morning I'd been thinking about how I needed to buy some BBQ sauce as I hadn't had any in ages, then this box comes, with a nice big bottle of BBQ sauce... that literally made my day - combined with all the sweets and chocolate, and cereal, and booze... ok I'll shut up, you get the point.

Here's a closer look at what was in the box.

Jordan's Granola - £3.69

Another well timed product - I'd run out of bread, and cereal, but I had 4 pints of milk in the fridge, so I'd started skipping breakfast - and this is the kind of breakfast I love.  I've had 2 bowls of it so far and love it. It's filled with pieces of strawberry and blueberry (which makes the milk a funky colour) and tastes lovely, not overly sweet.

Juiceburst drinks - 2 for £1.25

I had 2 different flavours of these, a full fat cranberry one, and a skinny mango and lime.  So far I've only had the mango and lime drink, but that was really lovely. I can't wait to try the other one, I'm waiting until I get a proper thirst on first. JuiceBurst have 14 different flavours in the range, and 3 skinny flavours :)

BBQUE - £3.99

As mentioned above, this possibly couldn't have been better timed.  We've used it twice since it arrived and it's gorgeous.  This one is 'The Original' which is flavoured with cranberries, beer, honey and apples - but they also do other takes on it like grill & beechwood or honey & mustard and more.

Lindt - 2 for £2.00

Who wouldn't be excited to see this in their box!? They're bags of mini eggs in their signature formula's and flavours - they're like mini egg shaped versions of their chocolates - yes you might have guessed, these were demolished within seconds!

Jelly Babies Berry Mix - £1.48

If you're one of those people who pick out the black and red jelly babies (leaving the yellow and green ones) then you'll love this bag! Personally, I like all the flavours, in fact, as the years go on, the yellow and green ones I like more and more :) (and yes, I'm one of those strange people that like the coffee flavoured Revels).

Sour Patch - £1.00

Another pack that was demolished in seconds, I love sour sweets, especially if they're really sour. Each bag has 6 different flavours too - not that I could tell, I had several different flavours squished into my mouth at the same time, lol :)

Crabbie's Fruits - 2 for £1.50

Oh, my, gosh, these were nice!  When I think of Crabbies, I think of ginger beer - a drink I'm not overly fond of.  However, these didn't taste gingery! Huzzah! One bottle was black cherry flavoured, and the other was raspberry and rhubarb - both were lovely, but the black cherry was the clear winner for us.

Kents Kitchen - £1.75

While I haven't had these yet, I'm all about noodles at the moment, so this was another very well-timed product in the box - and it's my namesake! These are made with all natural ingredients, are low fat and low calorie - so it's ticking all the boxes :)

Natvia - £2.00

It's nice to see more natural sweeteners hitting the shelves, free from nasty aspartame and instead they're using the natural sweetness from the stevia plant. I'm a big fan of Truvia, so I'm really keen to see how this compares.

Brioche Pasquier - 2 for 50p 

These are like flavoured (bacon) croutons, and funnily enough, despite being bacon flavoured, they're suitable for vegetarians :)  Each bag is under 90 calories and made from French bread.  It's also free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives.

Degustabox February

About a week ago the February Degustabox landed on my door step, and boy oh boy, it didn't disappoint! Funnily enough, I think this has been one of my favourite boxes yet - there were so many things in there that I'd eat (have eaten!) and really enjoyed.  Lets take a look and see what was inside :)

Lily O'Brien's Cocoa Cookie Crunch - £2.60

Holy mother of all that is chocolate, these were seriously scrummy!!!! How I didn't demolish the bag in one I'll never know, but I managed to save a few for the hubby for when he came home from work. They were mostly solid chocolate, with little morsals of cookie inside, oh so freakin' yummy!

Laimon fresh - £1.99

This is a lemon, lime and mint - it's like a sprite mohito.  I really wasn't sure what I'd think of this, but you know what, it was really refreshing!  Even the hubby liked it, and that's saying something! One of their serving suggestions is to add rum to turn it into a mohito ;)

Melba thins - £1.39

These are actually really nice - they're 10 packs of 6(?) melba thins - I can't say I've been very adventurous with these, I've had clover and cheese on them, they were nice though :)

Chocolate chip mini muffins from the American Muffin Company - £2.50

There were a wheat and gluten free box of muffins.  Seeing as I'm not a coeliac, I'm not really a fan of gluten-free stuff, since it makes no difference to me (people going gluten free when they're not coeliac's is actually one of my pet peeves, silly I know). Anyway, despite being gluten free, they were actually really quite moist and tasty, just a little crumbly.  I liked that they were individually wrapped too, so you didn't feel you HAD to eat them all when you opened the pack.

Peanut Hottie - £3.00

This was a pleasant surprise, and my 3rd jar of it :) I'm a fan of Peanut Hottie, such a lovely hot drink, and caffeine free.  Personally I like it really sweet, so I add a bit of sugar but it doesn't really need it.

Whole Earth three nut butter - £3.00

I'm still working my way through this, but it's really nice, I might even prefer it to normal peanut butter - this tends to be not quite as thick or dry, so it's easier to eat.  This 'three nut' butter is made up of cashews, peanuts and hazelnuts - all very tasty!

Beet it - beetroot nitrate bar - £1.85 for 2

I must admit, I haven't been brave enough to try these yet, lame I know.  They're currently using these in 150 universities across the world to see if they help reduce blood pressure - a pretty neat idea!

Jack Link's Beef Snack - £1.39

Those of you who know me will know I'm veggie, so the hubby had this one :)  He said it was very nice, not like beef jerky (which is what we expected) but more like a pepperami.  

Schwartz Flavour Shots - £1.40 for 2

When these were in one of the boxes a few months ago I really liked them - they come with a recipe for making it up, and they make up the base of the meal.  I gave the paella one to my mother-in-law as I'm veggie and hubby doesn't like seafood, but we'll be having the mild masala one.  I like that they contain herbs, spices and oils for form the main flavours.

All in all a really nice box, lots of the bits in here I really liked and were very quickly nommed up by me and the hubby :)

January 2014 Degustabox

It's that time of the month again (no, not that kind!) for me to share with you what I had in my latest Degustabox!  This month was probably my favourite yet - lots of things I love inside, so needless to say, this box was demolished pretty quickly - lets see what was inside :)

Drinks

Clipper Green Tea (special gift)

A sample pack of 10 tea bags was included this month as a treat of green tea with lemon (one of my favourite ways to drink green tea) - a very nice treat indeed!

Koko Dairy Free - £1.39

This is an alternative to cow's milk and is made from pressed coconut milk.  It has less calories than skimmed milk and 0% cholesterol.  They say it doesn't curdle in tea & coffee either, unlike soya milk - I'm yet to try this, it's sitting in the fridge waiting for me to feel brave enough to try it, I know that sounds silly, but I'm really funny at trying new dairy-free milks... strange I know.

Little Miracles - £1.49 each

I've had a few of these in blogger goody bags before, and I'm a big fan! They're tea-based drinks with fruit and herb infusions like cherry, peach, ginsing, acai etc.  They taste great, and even the hubby liked them! They're made out of a base of tea, so they contain caffeine too.

Magners light - £1.25

Now this was a very nice treat! This was the orchard berries flavour low-calorie cider and was absolutely gorgeous.  I'll definitely pick this up from the supermarket as I love fruity cider drinks :)

Simplee Aloe - £1.79

I'm a big fan of Aloe drinks, quite a few times I've visited our local Korean & Japanese shop here in Cardiff and picked up a big bottle of Aloe.  This blend is made with grape juice and a hint of lemon, and made for a very tasty and refreshing drink.

It's worth noting, in non-blogger boxes, you'd either have the Aloe drink, or the Magners depending on if you had a box with alcohol or not :)

Food

Finn Crisp - £1.20

Think Ryvita, but thinner and crispier (and in my opinion, tastier).  Finn Crisp only use natural ingredients, it's made from wholegrain and baked with sourdough (I love sourdough bread!).  We had these with a bit of butter on, and some Philadelphia spread, they were very yummy!

Sukrin cake mix - £5.00

This mix is free-from sugar and is made from sukrin instead, a natural sugar alternative, and has 80% less carbohydrates in it.  I haven't made this up yet so can't comment on how tasty it is, but it's the hubby's birthday soon, so I might well make it then, along with the peach and vanilla buttercream victoria sponge I'm making for him :)

Mornflake porridge pots - £1.19 each

I have to say, I love their approach with these.  I used to buy the Oatso Simple pots for work all the time, but got a bit fed up of them.  Well, these were different in that they were more oaty (bigger oats) and instead of having a powdered flavour built in, they had a little pot of flavour you can add - so we had one that had a little container of golden syrup (YUM!), and one that had a little tub of Nutella - you make up the porridge with water, and then add the tub and mix it all together.  Mine (golden syrup) was really lovely, I really liked the big oats.

Kabuto Noodles - £2.00

Included for the Chinese New Year (although, aren't Kabuto noodles Japanese?), these are one of my favourite pots of noodles to buy.  This pack included chicken, so the hubby had it and loved it - he's a fan of pot noodles, and MUCH preferred this, much cleaner and tastier flavours, with proper noodles.

Haywards Piccalilli - £1.89

Now this took me back! My mum used to make me cheese and piccalilli sandwiches for school when I was younger, so this was one of the first things I cracked open - it's also something I've bought periodically over the years for a trip down memory lane :)  It's chunky vegetables in a tangy mustard sauce :)

Rice Bran Oil - £2.00

I've pretty much used this all up already! Crazy I know - but I like to make my own potato and sweet potato wedges and I use quite a bit of oil for that (there's a LOT left in the pan once the taters are taken out don't worry).  It had a lovely soft flavour which both the hubby and I liked.  What we liked is that it said it had a high smoke point - however, it smoked with us pretty easily, about the same as the extra virgin olive oil we use, but this is cheaper.

Overall I loved this box - pretty much everything inside has gone already - only the cake mix and dairy free milk stuff that's left - definitely the best box so far, thanks Degustabox!

You'll have to excuse the poor photography, this turned up when it was dark out, and there was an air of desperation to try some of the food out right away, so it had to be snapped in poor lighting, I'm sure you'll excuse me :)  Here's a closer look at what was in the box :)

Gloworm - premium mixers (£1.50 each)

These come in 4 different flavours (pictured) each aimed at being a mixer for a different spirit, such as raspberry & orris for vodka, cucumber & apple for gin, pear, spice & lime for rum, and then ginger & lemongrass for bourbon (mmmmmmm).  I've yet to try these as I don't have any spirits in the house at the moment and I'm still not drinking after having a baby, however, I will be taking them with me to the in-laws for Christmas day :)  Oh, and these have caffeine in them (think Red Bull) and they're sugar-free.

Pukka clean green tea with lemon - £2.39

I'm a big fan of green tea, especially when it's married with lemon, it's like they were meant to go together!  This particular brand have combined fair-trade green tea, with scicillian lemons and dandelion root.

Fry light infuse with chilli £2.00

Now this intrigues me.  Most weeks I make a vegetarian chilli, with 5 different kinds of bean, and quorn chunks - the chunks I normally fry in olive oil, but this might be a great match - next time I make it, I'll be trying it with this :)

The Chia Co - Oats with chia £1.70

Since I've been on maternity, and since I've been trying to save money, I've gotten back into porridge (made with milk of course!).  I'm quite keen to try this as it's porridge with the added health benefit of chia seeds and coconut oil.  It's a 'just add water' pack, so simple to make.  Chia seeds are a great source of protein (something I lack being a veggie), fibre and omega-3.

Bonne Maman coarse orange marmalade £2.30

A bit of a cult preserve is Bonne Maman, perfect for adorning your toast in the morning - I think I might try this on Christmas morning with a chai latte in my Tassimo before we head over to the in-laws - it'll have to be on fresh crusty bread of course :) 

Kent's Kitchen meal kit £2.50

Now, this was made for me, surely? (surname is Kent!).  This is a clever take on the jars of sauce with spice you can buy in the supermarket, except this is a system of 3 pots with all natural ingredients, an oil, powder spices and a sauce to make a complete meal (when you add meat & veg).  I've given this to the in-laws (the Kents!) as it contains fish and I'm veggie :)

Bahlsen biscuits £1.79 per box

Now these were the first thing eaten demolished and they were amazing!  Hubby liked them both equally, but my personal fav was the ones with caramel, mmmmmm.  The biscuit was firm and the chocolate thick and creamy.  If I see these in the shops again, I'll be buying a box :D

Popchips £1.79

I think most bloggers have had these whether in a goody bag or bought a pack themselves.  They're heat-popped crisps that have a lot less calories than normal crisps, thanks to how they're cooked (not fried or baked).  They have a great amount of flavouring on them too, and are super-duper moreish - these were demolished for breakfast the next morning.

Eisberg alcohol-free wine £3.49

Perfect for breastfeeding mummies or designated drivers (or even people on a diet).  I haven't tried this yet, so can't comment on it, but it is in my fridge waiting to be had!  It's made in exactly the same way as normal wine, but has the alcohol removed - it's available in chardonnay, rose, cabernet sauvignon and riesling.
