My Little Creative Box

The latest My Little Box has landed and this one is a 'creative' box.  Seeing as I'm a very creative person, I was pretty excited to see what was inside.

The tote bag is lovely - if you have some fabric paints you could colour it all in.  Leaving it as it is works too as it's very pretty.  I think this will be well used :)

I really adore the postcard that came with this month's box, it says 'Creativity is intelligence having fun' an Einstein quote :)

Inside there were 2 skincare items, one is a floral body cream which smells lovely, and the other is a 'My Little Beauty' night cream.  The last My Little Beauty product I had (I think) was the body scrub which I absolutely loved - so I'll be giving this a whirl.  The 'Creative' part of the box was the tech jewellery - they're little clips you can add to phone chargers or headphone cables - cute, but not overly 'creative' - they remind me of the clip ons you used to get for the spokes of your bike, back in the day :)  Disappointingly inside was also a nail polish from a previous box (same colour and brand).

All in all a pretty nice box - not one of their best, but not their worst either :)  If you're interested in giving them a try, I have seen a little sponsored ad on Facebook that said as a teaser, the next box is called 'My Little Sweet Box' so will be interesting to see what's in that one!  You can sign up here - it costs £11 a month with £3.95 P&P.

My Little Box | August & September

Oops, I've been a bad blogger - time is flying by, and before I knew it, the September My Little Box had landed on my lap before I'd even reviewed the August one!  So, I'm going to do an all-in-one post where I'll share what is in both of them and what I thought :)

My Little Gypset Box (August)

Probably the most contraversial of the boxes, I saw quite a few negative reviews of this one.  I'm a bit more mixed about it.  I didn't hate it, but it also was my least favourite, I'll explain why.  Whether it's right or not, I really don't like So Susan products - I see them cropping up in beauty boxes but nowhere else.  Because of that, the perception I have of them is as a beauty box filler.  There was also a bronzer which I actually do like, it's quite natural toned which should be good for us pale ones :) Loved the inclusion of the Korres Body Milk, I'm a bit of a sucker for them! They also included some hairbands/bracelets - I actually really liked these, I haven't used them as either yet, but they're in my bag ready for my next hair emergency!

Last but not least, the bohemian bag by Antik Batik - personally, I'm not a massive fan of this, I don't love the design.  However, I have found a use for it.  It's hanging on the banister of my stairs (looking quite pretty, dangling there), and inside are My Little Box products that are waiting to be used!

My Little Fashion Box (September)

This is the September box, the 'My Little Fashion Box' box, and what a lovely box it is!  Inside is a beautiful scarf and goodies from La Roche Posay, Kerastase, My Little Beauty and  and alfa.k nail art decals.  As you probably know, every box is themed, and this one is perfect for keeping yourself pristine when you're out and about - so hair, skin and lips, and of course, a fabulous scarf (it's super soft too!).

My Little Road Trip Box | July

You know a month is going fast when the July My Little Box landed on my doorstep in what felt like a week since the last one (it wasn't, it was a month).  Needless to say, I was pretty darn gleeful when I saw it (this time I hadn't even looked for spoilers online!).

When it arrived, I did sieze the opportunity to do an unboxing on Periscope and was VERY happy with the contents, and bemused (I'll get to that).  Here's what was inside:

Summer Sorbet - After sun body geleé - £9

After the love I have for the sea salt scrub that was in last month's box, I'm pretty excited by this. I don't tend to let myself get any/much sun as I'm so pale and moley, although I am rocking a pretty epic hand tan right now (true story).  I've had a quick whiff, and yeah, it smells great :D

Garnier Micellar water - £1.99

This is where I was bemused.  So, this arrived on Friday morning.  Rewind back to Tuesday when I popped out at lunch to get my £15 high street challenge stuff for July, and as an impulse buy, I picked up that very same bottle of micellar water in Boots when it was on offer for £1 - so now I have 2 bottles of this which I'm yet to try, lol.  Lets hope I like it!  If nothing else, it'll definitely be used on swatches :)

Essie nail polish - £7.99

Ok, this I was seriously happy about.  When I was live on Periscope, I saw a picture of an Essie nail polish when I was looking through the big leaflet, which made me wonder if there was a bottle inside. I figured if there was, it would be a small bottle, but this my lovelies is a full size bottle! How fab! I love the colour too, burgundy, perfect for the end of summer and going into Autumn (my favourite season, I cannot wait for scarves and warming lattes with cinnamon.... mmmmmmm).

Oh it doesn't stop there! There were also some gold tattoo transfers, you know the ones that go on your wrist?  I'm actually really looking forward to trying these and layering them with some bracelets :)

This cute little travel journal was also included by BIC with a pen.  There's a cute little illustration on the cover, and inside is blank paper for you to write your travelling thoughts on - how cute!

Inside a lovely box, was this - it's a travel pouch organiser.  It's waterproof with a zip lock.  When you unfold it there's space for currency, ID/credit cards and your passport - I'll most definitely be using this next time we go abroad (god knows when that'll be!).

It wouldn't be a My Little Box without a cute little postcard now would it :)

My Little French Riviera Box

My second ever My Little Box has now firmly landed on my lap, and once again, I'm totally besotted with this brand of beauty box.  They're just so different from any other one on the market and just so beautifully and thoughtfully put together.  I feel slightly more elegant and feminine for having this in my life.

This month (June) My Little Box have teamed up with Sarah Lavoine who is an esteemed Parisian interior architecture designer.

Lets take a closer look at what was inside this month's box.

1.  Nail Polish Loved by Sarah Lavoine - £6.50
This is an absolutely stunning colour, think blue lagoon, that deep bluey colour, that's this.  I haven't tested it yet so can't comment on how long it stays chip-free, but it does claim to be quick drying, which as a mummy is a good one in my books! 

2. Sea Salt Fresh Scrub - £8.50

I cannot tell you just how amazing and fresh this smells! It's also really heavy, packed full with a salty scrub. I really like heavy-weight scrubs, I always feel like they do a good job getting rid of those dead skin cells... and again, this smells amazing!

3. Keratine Thermique Blow Dry Care by Kerastase - £19.50

This is an intense heat protector - something I know my hair is crying out for. I have so many split ends and bits snapping off, I really need to get quite a bit cut off... as much as it's not going to repair my damaged hair, it should help protect the healthy bits of hair that are left.

4. Planters Duo - £6.50

These are SO cute! You can either use them for plants, or makeup storage, nail polish storage (there's an idea!), for pens and pencils - I'll probably use them for nail polish and maybe little samples :)

5. Sarah Lavoine Sunglasses - £18

I really love these! I really needed a new pair of sunglasses so these were really well timed. I've never owned a brown pair before, but these actually look really lovely on :)

Inside there was also a box-sized post card saying 'This is my happy place', I've put this up in the kitchen for now, but I'd like to frame it and put it up in what will be my beauty room when we eventually move, they're such beautiful little pieces of art :)

My Little Provence Box

Until this month, I was a 'My Little Box' virgin - I'd longingly admired their boxes, a beauty box but different from any other one I've ever seen.  They're typically, stylishly and elegantly French and what's more, this box isn't just beauty.  It's quirky and not afraid to be different, and that's why I love it.

Each month has a different theme, this month it's 'Provence'.  Inside there's a little dustbag containing beauty treats from L'Occitane, a little card bag with the words 'Sunny things inside' on the front, and a sheet of cute fridge magnets, a big poster (which I fully intend on getting framed) and a card.  

My Little Box costs £11 a month, with £3.95 P&P to be added on top, so £14,95 in total.

Lets take a closer look to see what's inside.

This gorgeous large postcard was inside - it's now sitting on the side of my fridge being held in place with Picasso fridge magnets.  Inside was also the My Little Provence Doll magnets, super cute! You can dress her up and accessorise her however you like - even the hubby thought this was cute (£6)!

Inside the little dust bag was a selection of L'Occitane luxury samples, and a 'My Little Beauty' eye shadow crayon in a shimmery brown colour. In more detail under the picture:

The Amazing Pencil - £9

The pencil is in plastic casing with a twist-up-bottom to get more product out, it's a gorgeous milk chocolate shimmery brown, perfect for priming your lids for a similar colour eye shadow, or wearing by itself.  This sample is a full size product.

L'Occitane Mer & Mistral Shower Gel - £12 for the full size

I haven't 'used' this yet, however I have had a good old whiff, and it smells just lovely, really fresh and clean, as My Little Box put it 'it's travelling all the way from the perfume capital to make sea meet with breeze' I couldn't have put it better myself :)

L'Occitane Roses et Reines hand and nail cream - £14 for the full size

This I haven't had a whiff of, but I've placed it in the bathroom to use after washing my hands. Now that I have a baby I'm washing my hands more than ever so they're also drier than ever, this is going to get a lot of use!

L'Occitane Verbena Body Lotion - £20 for the full size

Now this I haven't whiffed either, so can't pass comment, but I shall be using it tomorrow morning before we head out, after my shower (we're visiting family and have a long drive).

L'Occitane Verbena Leaf Soap - £4.50 for the full size

This is just super pretty, a leaf shaped soap! As soon as our horrid drying handwash runs out, this is being used next!  My Little Box say that 'it looks like a leaf, but smells like citrus.  It actus like a scrub and yet feels darn creamy on the skin.' Sounds good to me!

Also inside was a cute little package saying 'Sunny things inside'.  When you open the box you're greeted with a gold cuff filled with little holes, and 2 lots of blue yarn/thread ready for you to customise your cuff, how fantastic is this! I think I'll bring this with me for my journey tomorrow so I have something to do in the car (as well as my crochet project!).  You can buy this no their shop (www.mylittlecorner.com) for £15.

So what did I think of this box? I freakin' loved it!  It's so different from any of the other beauty boxes out there.  I love how elegantly French it is, how quirky it is and feminine.  You get great value for your money, the cuff alone pays for the box and postage with everything else being a bonus.  I can't wait to see what their next box it :) You can shop them here.

Love Me Beauty - September edition

Love Me Beauty has changed.  Other than a glamorous new box adorned with rose gold lettering, there's also a new way to order what's in the box.  Gone are the days of a mystery box turning up on your doorstep once a month.  Now, you simply log in to www.lovemebeauty.com - set up your account and then you'll have 6 credits to spend.  Each of the times has a credit value, typically 1 or 2 credits - you pick the things you'd like to try, spending your credits (you can save a couple to roll over for the next month if you really want).

Then when the box is sent out, it comes in a little dust bag within the box and inside are the products you have chosen. 

I really like this idea, it's different from everyone else, and it means you won't be ordering products you're not interested in trying.  These are the products I chose for September.

Percy & Reed dry conditioner - 2 credits - sample size is worth £7 (full size £12)

I picked this because it's so different, I've never heard of a dry conditioner before.  It's something I'm putting in my hospital bag to try out.  What I'm curious to find out, is how well it'll work with dry shampoo, which is also going in the bag - we'll see - I'm excited to try it :)

Oriflame BB cream in light - 2 credits - sample size worth £5 (full size £10.95)

This has SPF 30 (very decent) in the mix.  I've tried a couple of Oriflame products before, my favourite being the triple core lipstick which I had in a blogger meetup goody bag last year.  Their aim is to create glowing skin by soothing, nourishing and healing the skin, as well as camouflaging any redness.  I'm excited to give this a try too!

Malin + Goetz grapefruit face cleanser - 1 credit - sample size worth £2.50

This is a simple foaming gel cleanser that uses natural grapefruit extract which helps to prevent breakouts and blemishes.  I'm a bit of a sucker for fruit scents, especially zesty ones like this, so I'm looking forward to giving this a whirl, maybe I'll put this in my hospital bag too!

NYX nail polish - 1 credit

Like the numpty I am, I don't have the nail polish to hand.  We're having our bathroom done at the moment, and considering my weak pregnant bladder I need to be near a working loo (TMI I know) - so I'm at my in laws house at the moment writing this post up, so I'm afraid to say, I can't tell you what shade it is - but look how pretty it is!!!!!!!  Perfect for Autumn, Halloween and the festive season :)

I really like the new way Love Me Beauty are putting together their boxes, putting you in control of what you receive and for £13.95 - which is more than previous boxes - only time will tell if that extra charge is worth it.

Love me Beauty - August 2014

Yep this is a little late in the month - until today, I've literally had nowhere to take blog pics as we've had stuff everywhere with trying to get the nursery sorted. So, lets see what was inside :)

MARSK - Mineral eye shadow in 'Foiled Again' £14.49

What's nice about this brand, they're strictly cruelty free.  You can use this product dry or wet.  It's not super glittery (certainly big glitter) but small shimmery particles - I'm looking forward to creating a silver and black smokey eye with this :)

A LA CARTE - Eyebrow definer in Blonde £23

This has a long thing felt brush tip with a fine point on the end to help you emulate their hairs on your brows to keep it looking natural.  Use lots of small strokes to define your brows, to soften the look, dab with cotton wool.

ORIFLAME - The one eye liner stylo in black £8.45

Admittedly I've only swatched this, but I was at least impressed with the swatch, it was jet black from the get-go - looking forward to giving this a road test :D

MIRABELLA - Lip lustre liner in 'tart' £10.50

The first time I heard of Mirabella was in one of my monthly Wantable boxes.  This liner includes aloe vera to help keep the lips and application soft.

What do you think of this box?  I really liked it - they're all products I'd use, especially the liquid eyeliner, probably the one product I couldn't live without :)

Love me Beauty box - June 2014 Menu 3

Once again this months Love me Beauty box* did not disappoint!  One thing that really separates this box from others is the fact you can pick which one you want before it's sent to you.  Yes, you may not get everything perfect, but if there's that one shade of nail polish you want or lipstick, you can pick the one that suits you best :)  Also, it seems it's Love me Beauty's first birthday this month, so Happy Birthday love me beauty!

Lets have a look at what's inside:

NYX Cosmetics nail polish - RRP £3*

I'm a big fan of NYX, I was even their blogger of month last year (March I think), so I was really excited to see this featured in the box.  NYX products tend to be affordable and decent quality

Beauty UK Define-FX mascara in Black - RRP £2.99*

I haven't tried anything from Beauty UK before, I know they're a firm budget brand, but I really don't have any expectations (i.e. I'm not expecting them to be rubbish, or mind blowing) :)  I'm looking forward to giving it a go, the main things I'm looking for is for it to be volumising and not to fall off onto my cheekbones :)

Montagne Jeunesse Black seaweed peel off masque - RRP £1*

I might be the only blogger, or female in the world not to have tried a Montagne Jeunesse face mask before, shameful I know!  I've tried lots of other sachet ones, like Superdrug own brand ones, so I'm looking forward to giving the 'real deal' a go, might try it at the weekend and post a very sexy selfie on Instagram #not

Urban Veda Purifying exfoliating facial polish - RRP £8.99*

I've not actually heard of this brand before so I'm intrigued!  I'm in the habit of using a face scrub now, so hopefully I'll be able to work this in to my routine to give it a whirl, I'll let you know what I think :)

Model Co lipstick in Dust - RRP £12*

My experiences with Model Co in the past haven't been great, but I did always like their lipstick.  I think since the batch of stuff I reviewed, they've upped their game and focussed more on quality, so I'm looking forward to giving this lipstick a whirl.  It's a lovely natural colour too, so easy to wear every day :)

Really happy with this box, looking forward to trying the facial polish, nail varnish, mas.... well all of it!  Can't believe I was about to write a list of the contents of the box... ah well.  I'll try to get around to reviewing these separately (well, the mascara and lipstick anyway), so keep your eyes peeled!
