Blogmas Day 2 - Advent Calendar Picks

Hey guys!  Welcome to Blogmas Day 2!!!!  So exciting!  Well, it's the 2nd of December and as I'm sure many of you have already got your advent calendars, I thought I'd put together a little guide of some of the ones I've been lusting after or like the idea of :)

For your inner geek/child

Lego Star Wars calendar (with a santa darth!) £24.99

It says ages 6-14 but I know someone who's like, 26 who has this :)  If you like lego, or star wars then I'm sure you won't be disappointed.  You have a different character every day, how great is that :)

The Selfridges Beauty Calendar

I believe this was around the £80 mark and that it's sold out - the reason I added it to this list is just because of how spectacluar it is :)  So many products / samples, it's a bloggers dream, I mean you'll have over 20 products right there to review, and a nice selection at that :)  This was a must have in the beauty world, but sadly not all of us can afford it or were quick enough, I still like lusting after these though :)

Ciate Mini Mani Month Calendar

You could quite happily have this for any time of the year to be quite honest, 24 mini ciate polishes including glitter top coats and caviar finishes.  From what I can tell this one is also sold out everywhere but how cute is it???

Traditional Wooden Calendar

You can buy these in loads of places, christmas shops, online on places like amazon or if you're feeling particularly creative you could make one yourself :)  If you have a sweet tooth perhaps put a sweet or chocolat behind each door, or for more festivity put a special ornament behind each one to add to the tree :)  (oh, and of course, makeup, nail polish etc)  :)

The You Magazine Beauty Calendar

I believe this is still available, it costs £59.95 and has over £200 worth of items in it.  If only I'd known, it has the PerriconeMD no foundation foundation (I have the No concealer concealer), I'm dying to try that!  Also has brands like L'Occitane, Benefit, Philosophy to name a few.  If I had that amount of money spare, I'd be buying it ;)

So there you have it, my top 5 picks for advent calendars for this festive season, I'll be making do with the one work gave me (a simple little one with a little choccy behind each day).  One thing I will say, since when did advent calendars stop on Christmas Eve?  Why no surprise for Christmas day?

A #shoppingrevolution

Hey guys!

Something a little different today.  I'm not sure if you've seen their tweets / follows / chats etc, but there is a new brand launching that I wanted to share with you (don't worry, they've not paid me or anything to write about this - just something I wanted to share with you)  :)

Mallzee are a new brand / idea / startup launching soon here in the UK (online).  They have a simple ideal, you create your own online mall.  You click and drag the stores into your mall that you'd want to buy from, then share that mall with friends /family etc and when anyone shops from your mall (including you), you'll earn a little commission.  They have over 200 stores signed up so far, names like Urban Outfitters, Boo Hoo, New Look, All Saints, Miss Selfridge... loads more.

They currently have a competition running where you can win £100/$155 for signing up, all you need to do is head over to the Mallzee site, put your email address in and you'll be entered.  Then when they do launch, you'll get emails etc to let you know when you can start to build your own Mall :)

They also host a twitter chat each Monday at 8pm (GMT) using the hashtag #shoppingrevolution.

I love this idea, I can't wait for it to launch so I can create my own mall - I just hope it takes off!

Blogmas

Hey guys!  So, today is the day that the lovely Laurie from A Day in the life of a Scottish lass and I launch Blogmas.  It's a colaboration between the two of us to bring you Christmas themed posts every day of December, whoop whoop!  Some days we'll still be reviewing products as usual etc, but we'll make sure to include a Christmassy tip or something Christmas theme.

We'll be covering things like tutorials for Christmassy makeup, recipes, card making, shopping guides, all sorts of fun stuff to help you plan and glide through the festive season.  And you know what, if you don't celebrate Christmas, I'm sure you can still take some tips from the posts we'll be doing - lets face it, card making can translate to birthdays etc too as can makeup tutorials :)  So hopefully there's a little something for everyone :)

Now, it wouldn't be Christmas without giving out some gifts now would it?  No, exactly!  So, Laurie and I have teamed up to bring you a giveaway too!  We're going to be giving away a present for the 12 days leading up to Christmas from the 13th to the 24th, so that's 12 prizes and 12 winners :)  The first winner will be picked here on the 13th, then the 2nd winner on Laurie's blog on the 14th and so on.  The only rule is that you have to be subscribed to BOTH our blogs.  As usual there are lots of different ways to gain entry points, and it's worth noting, it's open Internationally too :)  We can't guarantee that prizes will be received before Christmas, as some won't be drawn until very close to Christmas and the post will be very slow as we get closer too.
